Carnegie Mellon University’s Student Voter Ambassador Program
Learn from Carnegie Mellon University about developing a student voting ambassador program to scale peer-to-peer relational organizing capacity with low-level lifts and incentives for many students to participate.
This resource was created by Dr. Meggan Lloyd from Carnegie Mellon University as part of the 2022 Ask Every Student Codesigner Cohort.
Student Voting Ambassador Program Guide
This resource can help you develop a nonpartisan Student Voting Ambassador program in collaboration with students to create a low-level lift for students who may be interested in the work but don’t have the capacity to commit to full fellowship-level involvement. This program helps generate excitement for voter engagement on campus and capacity building for student voter groups.
This is the program that Carnegie Mellon University developed, but you are encouraged to hold your own brainstorming sessions with students to identify the activities, incentives, and opportunities that Student Voting Ambassadors may be most interested in on your own campus (as outlined below).
